Friday 12th February 2016

Dear Parents,

Chinese New Year Celebrations

The whole school have enjoyed exploring Chinese culture today with our ‘Chinese New Year Passport’ morning. We have tried using chopsticks; made a lantern and dragon mask; added our thoughts to the ‘Great Wall of Friendship’; explored tricky tangram challenges and calligraphy and learnt more about the year of the monkey.

Parent Governor Elections

We have a vacancy for one parent governor on our governing body. A letter with more details was sent home last week and there is an information pack and nomination form available from the office. Our governor skills audit identified the possible need for skills relating to data analysis and/or buildings and maintenance. Please speak to me or one of our existing governors for more details. The closing date for nominations is Friday 26th February.

Clubs for after half term

New club choice letters went home earlier this week. Please make your choices and return to school as soon as possible. For clubs which are oversubscribed we operate a waiting list system and the children take turns. Clubs will finish on Friday 18th March.

Rural Challenge Club

This has been a huge success and we have had visitors from London this week to observe how effectively our children are working together in the group. The leaders would like to start a second group after half term on a Thursday morning at 8am.

We hope that children who have been coming on a Friday morning will continue after half term- please tick on the Clubs list choice.

If you would like to join the new Thursday group starting straight after half term; Y2 upwards, including those who had originally indicated a new start for Friday after half term on the club list, please complete the slip below.

Children can only come to Rural Challenge on either Thursday or Friday morning.
