Our Christian value –Respect and Harvest Festival Celebrations
Our Harvest Festival Service will be held this afternoon in St Mary’s Church, Bolton-on-
Swale at 2pm followed by refreshments in the school hall. Everyone is invited to join us
for this service which will be led by the children. After the service the children will walk
back to school and whilst classes get ready for home time, refreshments will be served
in the Hall by Friends of the School.
As a farming community and Church School we are giving thanks for all that we receive and we are also raising awareness with the children of the needs of others less fortunate in our own community and more globally.
We are raising money for the charity WorkAid Thank you to everyone who entered
the School Council’s ‘Design a Scarecrow Competition’. The entries were wonderfully
creative and are all on display in the school hall. Please do come and admire them.
The money donated by entering the competition has helped is to send £80.00 to
WorkAid which will help to fund the transportation of all our tools to countries of East
Tools for Work Aid We are still collecting these and they can be brought to school or
Harvest gifts of fruit, vegetables and tins
Thank you for your generosity. We have made up harvest baskets for nominated
people in our local community. If you nominated someone please collect your basket
from the school hall after the service.
Donations to Richmond Food Bank Thank you
The tinned foods you donated have been given to the food bank in Richmond.

Class 3 Parental Assembly Thursday 3rd November 9.30am
Parents and carers of children in Class 3 are invited to share in Class 3’s special assembly after half term. You will be able to share in the work they have been doing in class.
A Wedding for Year 1 and 2 Children
As part of their RE curriculum children in Year 1 and 2 will be celebrating their own wedding in St Mary’s Church on the afternoon of Wednesday 2nd November. The children have received a letter with details about this.
Parent Teacher Consultations
Thank you to all our Reception parents who came for their meetings this week. We had 100% attendance and appreciated your views and feedback.
For children in Year 1 upwards these will take place after half term on Wednesday 9th November and Thursday 10th November from 3.45pm – 6.30pm. Please note Mrs Reynolds will be seeing her Year 1 parents on Thursday evening only. We will share important information about your child’s academic progress and targets at these meetings in addition to sharing their books and celebrating their wider interests and achievements. A sign up list will go up in the office entrance area after half term or you may email/ ring school for a time slot.
PE clothing for after half term
We will continue with outdoor PE after half term. All our children will need a named pair of track suit trousers in their PE bags. These should be different from tracksuit trousers/waterproof trousers which the children can wear at playtimes to go on the field. Please, please name all clothing.
Clubs after half term
These will start straight after half term. Children have received confirmation booking
slips. Clubs will not run on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th November due to
Friends of the School Reminders
Halloween School Disco Friday 11th November – details have been sent home. Children often like to dress up for this!
Reception Children reminder for after half term
After half term our Reception children will start at 9.00am and can be in the playground from 8.50am ready to line up with their class.
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal
Leaflets about this have been sent home today. Our shoeboxes will be collected from school on the morning of Monday 14th November. If you would like to take part you may have time to start collecting over half term.
Lunch Money Payments
Please ensure your lunch account is in credit.
New starters for Reception 2017
Please call into the office to collect a letter if you have a child due to start school in September 2017.
Half Term Dates
We finish today for half term. The children return to school on Tuesday 1st November.
