CEOP Internet Safety

Friday 30th September 2016

Dear Parents,

Roles and responsibilities for our children

Our whole school ethos aims to develop our children as confident and articulate individuals who can both express their own views and understand the needs of others. We focus on this particularly in Circle Time and PSHCE lessons. Children also have a range of responsibilities and jobs, both in class and the wider school which they really enjoy. This is a particular focus for our Year 6 children who have made an excellent start as House Captains. Sports Captains, Worship Leaders, Eco Committee and Library monitors. We are also celebrating our newly appointed School Council. These are representatives from each class and year group who will help to share the views of all children. Congratulations to: Darcie Dearden, Reception; Theo Carey, Y1; Alex Gilbert, Y2; William Gawthorpe, Y3; Rebecca White, Y4; Darragh Lyons, Y5; Beth Hutchinson and Fraizer Martin Y6.

Our Christian value –Respect

This week we have thought about different types of prayer; Class 1 and 2 children have written and shared prayers focussing on being thankful; Class 3 have written prayers of forgiveness and Class 4 have researched  globally thinking about issues in different parts of the world which may need our prayers.

What can I do to support  my child’s learning in school ?

At our Parent Teacher consultations in October we will discuss further your child’s progress and targets with you. You can support your child by:

  • Listening to your child read at home as often as possible and discussing the meaning behind the text, any tricky words
  • Taking time to support their homework activities
  • For children in Y2 upwards, learning their times tables so that by the end of Y4 they know all their tables to x12

Safety on entry to school for children attending before school clubs
