Dear Parents,

Easter Activities

Thank you to everyone who has supported our Easter activities this week. Congratulations to all the children who so wonderfully decorated an egg or bonnet. We all enjoyed the egg rolling challenge and the tombola and prizes organised by Friends of School.

Our Easter and end of term celebrations continue this morning as Classes 1 and 2 enjoy a giant Easter egg hunt while Classes 3 and 4 have an Easter cricket tournament.

We look forward to seeing you at our Easter service this afternoon at 2pm.

Thank you for supporting our Easter refreshments and cake stall

Thank you to everyone who baked cakes and provided refreshments following our Easter egg rolling yesterday. Thank you also to Friends of the School who organised our Easter tombola and prizes for our competition winners.

School Clubs

The children received new club booking forms last week. Many children have returned their booking forms, thank you. Confirmation slips go home today and clubs start as soon as we return to school. Clubs such as cricket are oversubscribed; children who did not get a turn in the first half term will have a place in the second half term.

School Swimming after Easter reminder

All children from Y1 upwards will swim with school and qualified instructors at Catterick Swimming baths for a 10 week series of lessons starting as soon as we return after Easter on Wednesday and Thursday. A reminder to return your consent forms.

Online Learning – Espresso Discovery  Education

Our children can access a whole range of learning materials, news, video clips and games at home as well as at school through our online learning resource, Espresso Discovery. Login details:

School uniform and PE kit reminders for the summer term

A reminder to name all items of clothing for the summer term. As the weather improves girls may wear blue gingham checked summer dresses and children may wear grey or black shorts.

We will aim to do our PE lessons outside so all children need a full kit; black shorts and track suit trousers (separate from those used at playtime), plain white t shirt, trainers for outside PE. The children will still need a change of indoor shoes.

Helpers needed to join the Cookery Club Team Please speak to Beth Wheldon if you would like to join the fantastic team of regular cookery club leaders.

Parish News-Confirmation for adults and children in Y6 upwards

Rev Yvonne would like to invite children (Y6 upwards) and adults to confirmation groups. These start on Thursday 4th May for children and young people from 5.30pm -6.30pm and for adults from 7pm. Venue to be confirmed. Please email Rev Yvonne on admin@esbb.co.uk to indicate attendance or to talk to her about this. Dates for the summer term

Some of the key dates for the summer term are being sent home today and will be on the website.  We hope this will help you to plan ahead.

Bikeability Cycling Training

We are offering this to Y5 and Y6 this year. Children will need a bike in working order and a helmet if they want to take part in this. Further details and consent forms to follow.

Happy Easter

All the staff in school join with me in wishing you a very happy Easter. We do hope you have a restful time with your family.

The children return to school for the summer term on Tuesday 25th April.
