‘Pirates and Mermaids’ School Production
We all enjoyed an excellent Dress Rehearsal this morning – you are in for a treat!
Our performances of ‘Pirates and Mermaids’ will take place in the Village Hall on Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th July starting at 6pm and lasting approx. an hour. There will be refreshments and a raffle. Parents need tickets for this event – please contact the office.
All children in Classes 3 and 4 are taking part in this and need to be there by 5.50pm. Class 4 have their costumes and will come to the hall wearing them. Class 3 need to wear smart, cool clothing; summer dresses or shorts and a shirt.
Clubs have now finished
Clubs have now finished for the summer. Thank you to all staff and parents who gave of their time so generously to make these happen.
Rural Challenge Club on Thursday and Friday morning
This club will run for one more week on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th July.
Transition between classes and reports home to parents
Children in Y1 upwards will receive their reports on Friday 15th July. This will include statutory assessment information for Y1 Phonics, Y2 and Y6 assessments.
On Wednesday afternoon 13th July the children will spend time in their new classes for September.
On Monday 18th July at 3.30pm we will hold our open classroom drop in. This is an opportunity to visit your child’s new classroom and teacher for September and to see their work and books from this term.
Fun Run for Children in Classes 1 and 2 at Richmond School
A reminder that all of Class 1 and 2 will attend this event on Wednesday morning 13th July. Please send a PE kit, water bottle, snack, hat and apply/send suncream. The children will be back in school in time for lunch.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic Thursday 14th July – bring a Teddy to school
Next Thursday lunchtime the children will enjoy lunch outside with their Teddy bears! School lunch children will have a special packed lunch made by the kitchen and have chosen their sandwich filling choices. Packed lunch children will eat with them.
On Friday 15th July we will hold our annual Summer Fair starting at 1.30pm with the children Maypole dancing. There will then be a variety of stalls, refreshments and activities for everyone to enjoy. Please put this date in your diary and bring family and friends.
We welcome donations of cakes, toys, books, games, soft toys. We also need helpers to set up and run our stalls. Please let Beth Wheldon know if you can help or email:
Second hand uniform and fancy dress/dressing up clothes. FoS will be washing and packaging these to be sold at the Summer Fair. Please bring them into school in a labelled bag.
Class Hampers for Summer Fair Raffle and School Production Raffle
Friends of the School are asking each class to produce a hamper on a particular theme. Please send a contribution into school with your child so they can help put together their class hamper. These are the themes:
Class 1 Hamper – Summer
Class 2 Hamper – Pocket money toys
Class 3 Hamper- Arty Crafty
Class 4 Hamper – Sporty
Safeguarding at the Summer Fair
After the children finish their Maypole dancing those in Classes 3 and 4 are able to browse the fair under the supervision of school staff. Children in Classes 1 and 2 will return to their classroom and will need collecting by a parent/known adult to visit the fair. If the adult collecting your child is not known to school staff, please inform school in writing before Friday. If you are not able to send someone to explore the fair with your child they will be taken round by one of our school staff. At 3.30pm the fair will finish and staff will supervise the gate as normal. Please send money to spend in a named purse.
Sports Day Tuesday 19th July at 1.30pm
Everyone is invited to join us for the afternoon to watch the children take part in a variety of activities and races. The children traditionally wear a t shirt that is the colour of their house; red, blue, green or yellow. They do not need them till the day itself. If this is tricky a white t shirt is still fine.
Year 6 reminders
Y6 transfering to Richmond School Activity day on Monday 11th July – come to school in sportswear and with a packed lunch. We will transport you to Richmond School.
Induction Day for Richmond and SFX Schools Wednesday 13th July – make your own way to Secondary School, wearing your primary school uniform. Choose whether to have a packed lunch or school lunch.
Year 6 Bikeablility Monday 18th July and Tuesday 19th July – Consent forms
Our Year 6 children will once again take part in this important bike safety course. They will need a bike in good working order with a bell and a cycle helmet. They will need to bring their bike to school on the relevant days. Trained instructors deliver and validate this course.
Consent forms have been sent home. Please return these to school.
