Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

CEOP Internet Safety

Friday 11th December 2015

Dear Parents,

Ofsted Inspection visit on Thursday 10th December

Thank you to all our parents, children, governors and staff for their excellent support during our Inspection visit yesterday. Ofsted visited under a new inspection category from September 2015, whereby all schools previously judged ‘good’ in their last inspection receive a visit to check that this judgement is still an accurate reflection of the school. Thank you for taking time to express your views on the online questionnaire, Parent view on our school website. A particular thank you to anyone who helped us to put away the stage and put Class 4’s room back together following the evening performance the night before.

A letter summarising the inspection findings will be published in about 20 days.

Christmas Performance Congratulations

Well done to everyone for the fantastic performances of ‘Straw and Order’ this week. Thank you to all our parents and staff for supporting the children so well and for their wonderful singing and acting.

There will photographs taken at the dress rehearsal on our website shortly.

Friends of the School Christmas Raffle and Refreshments

A huge thank you to Friends of the School who organised our Christmas raffle and  performance refreshments. Thank you also for the generous donations to the raffle and for supporting with buying tickets. We raised over £1,000, with final totals still to be confirmed. This will be used to directly support and enhance learning for our children in school.

Friends of the School Christmas Meal

This will be held on Saturday 19th December at The Farmers Arms, Scorton. There will be a list in the school entrance area, on the FoS noticeboard to sign up. All welcome.

Christmas Parties next week

We ask that you help us with our parties (see dates below) by making a contribution of party food. Class 1 and 2 parents please sign the list in the office entrance area (or phone school) to indicate what you can bring.

Class 3 and 4 children please can boys bring some savoury food to share and girls bring sweet/dessert food to share.

You do not need to send large quantities of food as it is mid-afternoon party snack at about 2.30pm. Children will have lunch as normal at 12 noon.

Remember to name your boxes and tins if you would like them returning afterwards.

The children come to school in their uniform on the day of their party and bring some clothes to change into for their party in the afternoon.
