Dear Parents,
Whole School ‘Wizard of Oz’ Performance
Everyone enjoyed a wonderful performance and experienced ‘live theatre’. Class 4 also took part in a stagecraft workshop. Thank you to Friends of School for funding this.
Our Christian value –Respect
This week we have thought about respect for others through the New Testament stories of the parables. In the parable of the two builders we learnt how important it is to make sure a job is well done. The parable of the lost sheep helped us to know that everyone is important and valued. In the parable of the great feast we reflected on including everyone.
Harvest Festival Service in St Mary’s Church, Bolton-on-Swale at 2pm on Friday 21st
October followed by refreshments in the school hall
Everyone is invited to join us for our school Harvest Festival service which will be led by
the children in St Mary’s Church. After the service the children will walk back to school
and whilst classes get ready for home time, refreshments will be served in the Hall by
Friends of the School.
There will be no Special Mentions Assembly next Friday 21st October
As a farming community and Church School we are giving thanks for all that we receive and we are also raising awareness with the children of the needs of others less fortunate in our own community and more globally.
We are raising money for the charity WorkAid
We are supporting WorkAid‘ a charity which collects and repairs tools to send to East
Africa where training with these tools helps to transform the lives of families. School
Council are asking the children to pay £1 to enter their ‘Scarecrow ‘competition. The
children have instructions with their homework books. Please return your paper plate
scarecrow design by next Wednesday 19th October with your £1donation to WorkAid.
Harvest gifts of fruit, vegetables and tins
These can be brought into school next week and will be made into Harvest baskets to
distribute to people you nominate in the local community. Other items will be taken to
local food banks. Please nominate people using the slip below. Spare boxes to make
up our baskets would be appreciated.

Half term Holiday Sewing Club
Mrs Marshall will be running the holiday sewing club on Tuesday 25th October 10-2pm at the Sewing Studio, Ellerton upon Swale. Cost £15, bring a packed lunch. They are making Halloween themed tote bags. Email Catherinemarshall38@hotmail.co.uk to book a place.
Clothing in school
As the weather changes children need to bring waterproof trousers/tracksuit trousers to cover their school clothes if they wish to go on the field at playtimes. Wellingtons are also a good idea. Please, please name all clothing.
