Dear Parents,

Official Opening of our Reflection Garden Monday 25th April, 9.45am

On Monday 25th April our new school garden will be officially opened by Bishop James Bell, Bishop of Ripon. He will join us for an assembly at 9.30am and we will gather in the garden at 9.45am for a short opening ceremony. Parents are welcome to join us outside for this. Please check the letter you received about photographs and videos.

Celebrating special events

On Thursday we celebrated the 90th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth 11. We will then join in the nation’s official celebrations with a special assembly and street party on Friday 17th June. More details to follow.

St George’s Day 23rd April

Children who are members of uniformed organisations; Beavers, Rainbows, Cubs, Brownies, Scouts, Guides may wear their uniform to school on Tuesday 26th April when we will celebrate this.

Dairy Dates for the Summer Term

A full list of diary dates for the term were sent home last week; paper copies are available from the office and on the school website. Further details will follow about specific events.

Class  Photographs  and Groups

Whole class and group photographs were taken today. In the next two weeks we will receive the proofs which will be sent home and large photos will be on display in the children’s entrance foyer to view. Details of how to purchase these will accompany the proofs.

Clubs for this half term

All our Clubs are now running for the half term. Cookery Club will start next week; Thursday 28th April.

Marrick Priory Residential in September

Our current Year 5 children received letters last week scheduling payments for their residential visit in September 2016. Please do not hesitate to speak to me or Mrs Newton if you have any concerns about payment. The deposit; £36.00 is due by 30th April.


Year 6 SAT’s Week Monday 9th to Thursday 12th May

Our Year 6 children sit their tests during this week so please continue to support them in their preparations for these with homework, spelling lists and maths booklets.

Instrumental Lessons in school

If your child is interested in starting instrumental lessons in school we have places available for flute, guitar, violin, piano and cello from September. Please speak to Mrs Dobson. If you wish to finish lessons please give half a terms notice in writing.

Year 6 Sports Sessions for those transferring to Richmond School

Children have a letter inviting them to take part in transition sporting events after school at Richmond School. Please reply directly to Richmond School. All details are in the letter.
