CEOP Internet Safety

Thursday 24th March 2016

Dear Parents,

Easter Activities

Thank you to everyone who has supported our Easter activities this week. Congratulations to all the children who so wonderfully decorated an egg or bonnet. We all enjoyed the egg rolling challenge and the tombola and prizes organised by Friends of School.

We look forward to seeing you at our Easter service this afternoon at 2pm.

Thank you for supporting our Easter refreshments and cake stall

Thank you to everyone who baked cakes and provided refreshments following our Easter egg rolling. Friends of the School raised £100 (in addition to funding all our Easter prizes). This goes directly to support resources for the children in school. We are continuing to update our IT resources in school; laptops, cameras, flipcams, tablets.

School Clubs

The children received new club booking forms earlier this week. Many children have returned their booking forms, thank you. Confirmation slips will go out after the holidays and clubs will start in the week beginning 18th April.

School Swimming after Easter reminder

All children from Y1 upwards will swim with school and qualified instructors at Catterick Swimming baths for a 10 week series of lessons starting the second week after Easter.  A reminder to return your consent forms.

Espresso, our online learning resource

A reminder that children have access to Espresso at home also. Here you can learn more about lots of curriculum areas and enjoy practising skills in the Games section. It is also a safe and child friendly way to access current news items. Go to Espresso Home Access.      login: student23945         password: Bolton

School uniform and PE kit reminders for the summer term

A reminder to name all items of clothing for the summer term. As the weather improves girls may wear blue gingham checked summer dresses and children may wear grey or black shorts.

We will aim to do our PE lessons outside so all children need a full kit; black shorts and track suit trousers (separate from those used at playtime), plain white t shirt, trainers for outside PE. The children will still need a change of indoor shoes.

Easter Holiday Sewing Club

These will run on from 10am to 2pmon Thursday 31st March, Friday 1st April, Wednesday 6th and Friday 8th April for children aged 6-13 years. To book a place contact Catherine Marshall on 01748 810824 or email

Michael Syddall Education Foundation Parish Representative for the village

Due to the retirement of the Scorton representative there is now a vacancy. Closing date for expressing an interest is 29th March. Please contact Vicki Raven (Clerk to Scorton Parish Council) on 01748 811433 or for more details.

Happy Easter

All the staff in school join with me in wishing you a very happy Easter. We do hope you have a restful time with your family. All the children have homework and reading books to complete.

The children return to school for the Summer term on Tuesday 12th April.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.

Yours sincerely,

Nicola Dobson
