Dear Parents,
‘Superstar ‘– our Nativity Performance
You are warmly invited to join us for our whole school Nativity Performances on Tuesday 6th at 2pm and Wednesday 7th December at 6pm. Ticket requests should now be in to the office and tickets will be sent home next week.
Costumes
Nativity costumes need to be in school on a named coat hanger by Monday 28th November, ready for our dress rehearsal on Friday 2nd December. The ideas in the letter are suggestions only; please ask if you need help. We do have some spare costumes in school.
Parish Christingle Service Sunday 27th November, St Mary’s Church 10.00am
This is a very family friendly candle lit service; a good way to start Advent and support the Children’s Society charity. The children have collecting candles which they can take to the service or return to school. Thank you to everyone who has returned their candles.
Parish Posada. Figures of Mary and Joseph
It is a tradition in the parish for figures of Mary and Joseph to journey from house to house during Advent. They will reach St Mary’s Church at the crib service on Christmas Eve at 1pm. A letter was sent home from Rev Yvonne earlier in the week. Please return the slip at the bottom of the letter if you would like the Mary and Joseph Posada bag to spend a night at your house.
Friends of the School Reminders
Friends of the School have done a great job organising the child-designed Christmas cards – thank you. They are currently organising the raffle and refreshments for the Christmas Performances. If you can donate a raffle prize please bring it into the office by Monday 5th December. Many local businesses have generously supported us. On the Wednesday evening performance mulled wine and mince pies will also be served.
A new football kit for school
Following the success of our Y3/4 and Y5/6 boys’ teams who both won the Richmond Area Tournaments and our Y5/6 girl’s team who came second, we are celebrating with a new football strip! Our previous strip will still be used and was kindly sponsored by the White family – ‘Allmet’.
A special thank you to our new sponsors the Newall family – ‘Swale Auto Sales’. The Y5/6 boys will wear this for the first time when they compete in the area finals.
