Dear Parents,
Chinese New Year Celebrations
The whole school have enjoyed exploring Chinese culture today with our ‘Chinese New Year Passport’ morning. We have tried Chinese calligraphy; made a lantern and dragon; taken part in Chinese drama and storytelling; attempted tricky Chinese puzzle challenges and learnt more about the Year of the Rooster.
NSPCC Speak out Stay Safe Presentations
On Tuesday morning 7th February the NSPCC will be leading age appropriate presentations to support children in keeping themselves safe in a variety of contexts. The children had letters in their book bags last week explaining this.
Class 4 visiting the Science laboratory at Richmond School
As part of our transition work to Secondary school, Class 4 children will be spending the morning in the Science Department at Richmond School exploring chemical reactions. This visit takes place on Wednesday 15th February; please return your consent forms.
Instrumental Lessons in School
All our Year 3 and 4 children have the opportunity to play the violin or cello as part of our Wider Opportunities Music Programme delivered by Mrs Jameson. In addition to this, children may also pay for individual or small group instrumental lessons. Mrs Jameson teaches violin, cello and piano. Your child may also have lessons with North Yorkshire Music Service on a variety of instruments; currently flute.
Please note that you need to give half a terms advance notice to the school office or North Yorkshire Music Service if you want to finish lessons.
Diary Dates for this term
A full list of diary dates were sent home and are on our school website .This includes Class Assembly dates and Parent Teacher Consultation dates after half term.
Class 1 have their Parental assembly on Thursday 16th February at 9.30am
All parents and carers of children in Class 1 are invited.
