Friday 5th May 2017

Dear Parents,

Year 6 SAT’s Week Monday 8th to Thursday 11th May

Our Year 6 children sit these statutory national tests on four mornings next week so please continue to support them in their preparations for these with homework, spelling lists and maths booklets. Please plan a calm weekend, early nights and good breakfasts. Please arrive at school in the morning in good time.

It will be a busy week for everyone in school as extra staff are required to invigilate our different tests. For the four mornings of next week only, Year 5 children will be working in different classes or taking part in their Bikeability Cycle training.

Jazz Dancing Workshop next Friday 12th May

To celebrate our hard work next week, we will be ‘letting our hair down’ with a morning of Jazz dancing for KS2.  This is being funded again through our Sainsbury’s vouchers .Please bring any vouchers you still have into school. We also use these to fund our playtime equipment.

School Group/Class Photographs

The proofs of the Group/Class photographs have been sent home this week. You can view the large versions of these photographs in the children’s entrance area. You should have received a sample of any group your child is in. If you would like to order any of these please return your form with payment to school by Wednesday 10th May. This enables us to send the school order off together. Any orders after this date will have to be sent directly and not through school and may incur a late order fee.

Congratulations to our Y5/6 Cricket Team

Our cricket team competed in a tournament with 15 local schools and finished in 5th place. We are all enjoying playing lots of cricket in school!

Friends of the School – Tesco ‘Bags of Help’ fundraising success!

Now we need your support

The redevelopment of our outdoor classroom for Classes 1 and 2 has been shortlisted to go to public vote in the Catterick Tesco store during May and June. Please encourage all your family, friends and neighbours to vote for our school project with their tokens and help us to raise more money for our school.

All our children will ultimately benefit as money from this fundraising releases other money in our budget to pay for resources which benefit everyone. Our next target will be to continue to update our IT; laptops and other devices for all children.

Thank you to the Black Bull at Moulton

We are very grateful for the continued support from the Black Bull with their monthly quizzes. To date we have received £550 in donations to school from them. Please pass on our thanks if you visit. We are continuing to update our IT equipment.

Our Christian value for this term is ‘Community’

We are celebrating the ways in which we all work together as classes and as a school community. We are focussing on supporting others and good team work. We will be exploring how we can support our local community and how we are part of a global community.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.

Yours sincerely,

Nicola Dobson
