Dear Parents,

Congratulations to Class 1 on their excellent Parental  Assembly

Thank you to everyone who came to support Class 1’s Parental Assembly, they performed brilliantly. We enjoyed learning about all the different aspects of their curriculum; especially their ‘Our World’ topic. A special well done to our Reception children who spoke so confidently at their first assembly.

Class 2 have their parental assembly on Thursday 19th November at 9.30am

Class 3 have their parental assembly on Thursday 26th November at 9.30am

Class 4 have their parental assembly on Thursday 12th November at 9.30am

These have been taken in school today and children have the proofs and ordering instructions in their book bags.

Book Fair in School

The book fair opens after Special Mentions tonight and will be open before and after school next week, Monday to Thursday. You can also order books using the catalogue the children took home tonight. A high level of commission from the sale of books at the book fair comes back into school to be spent on updating our class and school library. Thank you in anticipation for your support.

Parent Teacher Consultations for Reception children

On Wednesday 21st October children of Reception parents can book an appointment to meet with Mrs Reynolds and discuss how their child has settled into school.          You can book a slot from 1.15pm to 6pm.

Parent Teacher Consultations for children in Year 1 upwards

These will take place after half term on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th November from 3.45pm – 6.30pm. Please note Mrs Reynolds will be seeing her Year 1 parents on Wednesday evening only. Please sign up for a time slot in the office reception entrance area or phone the office to book. We will share important information about your child’s academic progress and targets at these meetings in addition to sharing their books and celebrating their wider interests and achievements.

Our Theatre Performance in school

The whole school enjoyed a performance of ‘Oliver Twist’ this week. Thank you to Friends of the School who funded this on our behalf. Children in Class 4 also get an opportunity to take part in a theatre craft workshop with some tips on characterisation.

Bags 2 School

Bags are to be returned to school on Tuesday 20th October by 9.00am..

 

Harvest Festival Service in St Mary’s Church, Bolton-on-Swale at 2pm on Friday 23rd

October followed by refreshments in the school hall

Everyone is invited to join us for our school Harvest Festival service which will be led by

the children in St Mary’s Church. After the service the children will walk back to school

and whilst classes get ready for home time, refreshments will be served in the Hall by

Friends of the School. Volunteers to serve refreshments/bake cakes please sign up

below.

There will be no Special Mentions Assembly next Friday 23rd October

As a farming community and Church School we are giving thanks for all that we receive and we are also raising awareness with the children of the needs of others less fortunate in our own community and more globally.

We are  raising money for the charity Farm Africa

We are supporting Farm Africa’s appeal, ‘Superfood Sweet Potato Challenge’ which

raises money to support farmers in Africa, including Kenya where we have our link

school. School Council are asking the children to pay £1 to enter their ‘Design a Meal ‘

competition. The children have instructions with their homework books. Please return

your paper plate meal design by next Wednesday 21st October with your £1donation

to Farm Africa.

Harvest gifts of fruit, vegetables and tins

These can be brought into school next week and will be made into Harvest baskets to

distribute to people you nominate in the local community. Other items will be taken to

local food banks. Please nominate people using the slip below.
