Congratulations to our Sporting Teams
Our Year 3/4 Football Team and our Netball Team competed in area tournaments this week, both finishing in 3rd place. The standard of play was excellent and our children competed against much larger schools working well as a team.
Building Work over half term
We are having work done on our kitchen roof during the half term holidays. Scaffolding will be erected tomorrow and the work is scheduled for completion by Friday 6th November. This should not impact on the running of school. Children have been reminded about safety around building sites, particularly if playing out during the holidays.
Supporting teacher training through Durham University
Like all good schools, we are actively involved in supporting the training of teachers. After half term there will be 2 students on placement in Class 1 on a Thursday and 1 student in placement in Class 2 on a Tuesday. They will be observing and working with small groups and will be under the direction of the class teacher at all times.
Parent Teacher Consultations
Thank you to all our Reception parents who came for their meetings this week.

Please note Mrs Reynolds will be seeing her Year 1 parents on Wednesday evening only. Please sign up for a time slot in the office reception entrance area or phone the office to book. We will share important information about your child’s academic progress and targets at these meetings in addition to sharing their books and celebrating their wider interests and achievements.
Year 6 – preparation for assessments in May 2016
At parent’s evening Mrs Jones will discuss in more detail how we prepare your child for Year 6 National Tests next year. Mrs Wright will be working with different Year 6 children on a Thursday. She will work with individuals and small groups on a variety of topics from their English and Maths curriculum. We expect this to involve all of our Year 6 children at different times to ensure all children achieve their personal best.
