Dear Parents,

Congratulations to Class 3 on their excellent parental assembly

Thank you to all parents and carers who came to support Class 3 for their assembly this week. We all had a wonderful insight into learning in their classroom. We travelled back in time to learn about the Romans and Vikings; the Viking song was a favourite!

We enjoyed hearing about your Science work on Forces and sharing in the Baptism you held at St Mary’s Church.

Class 4 Sports Hall Athletics

Well done to Class 4 who represented our school in a whole variety of athletics events, both field and track, at Richmond School this week. Everyone took part, encouraging and supporting one another. There were some great individual performances also.

‘Straw and Order ‘– our Nativity Performance

You are warmly invited to join us for our whole school Nativity Performances on Tuesday 8th at 2pm and Wednesday 9th December at 6pm. Ticket requests should now be in to the office and tickets will be sent home next week.

Costumes

Nativity costumes need to be in school on a named coat hanger by Monday 30th November, ready for our dress rehearsal on Friday 4th December. The ideas in the letter are suggestions only; please ask if you need help.

Parish Christingle Service Sunday 29th November, St Mary’s Church 10.00am

This is a very family friendly candle lit service; a good way to start Advent and support the Children’s Society charity. The children have collecting candles which they can take to the service or return to school.

Parish Posada. Figures of Mary and Joseph

It is a tradition in the parish for figures of Mary and Joseph to journey from house to house during Advent. They will reach St Mary’s Church at the crib service on Christmas Eve at 2pm. If you would like to take part in this please see the attached letter from Rev Yvonne and return the slip to school.

Friends of the School Reminders

Friends of the School have done a great job organising the child-designed Christmas cards – thank you. They are currently organising the raffle and refreshments for the Christmas Performances. If you can donate a raffle prize please bring it into the office by Monday 7th December. Many local businesses have generously supported us. We will need help selling raffle tickets before both performances. Please contact Beth Wheldon if you can do this. On the Wednesday evening performance mulled wine and mince pies will also be served. Again, offers of help please.
