National Poetry Day 2026 Thursday 2nd October
We had a wonderful day focussing on Poetry and Rhyme in our English work to celebrate National Poetry Day. The theme this year was ‘Wonder’ and the children loved reading and sharing their poems with their teachers and class. We even had some volunteers who shared their poetry in our whole school assembly for National Poetry Day. Learning a poem by heart helps children to build memory skills; internalise rhythm and sentence structure and engage with spoken English performance articulately.
